Lets see what most of us geeks consider ourselves politically.

I am independent. I do not rely on a party to tell me how to think, but currently side mostly with the right as the left as gone so nut bag commie stupid that they have lost all perspective of reality.

I have and will continue to support Trump, and am proud to say it!

I am a devout conservative! Today’s Democrat party is run by the Socialists.

I guess if thinking corporations should pay taxes and people shouldn't die for want of antibiotics because they don't have a referral is liberal I'm one of those.
I don't believe in gun control, or politicians.
I'm registered unaffiliated because both options suck.

Used to be Hardcore conservative. Today Id say i'm a little more toward the center on some issues... Just dont mess with my guns or raise my taxes... the rest really doesn't matter to me much anymore..

Well, I'm definitely conservative because I think owning guns is a right of all citizens, because I think abortion is murder, because I don't think you can help the lazy by spoon feeding them, because I don't believe citizenship is something that everyone deserves, because I think if you worked hard for 40 years of your life that you should be able to retire in comfort, because I think if you fought for this country that you (and your family) should have free health care and retirement, because I think if you are able to work you should, and lastly, because I don't think healthcare or education is a right, but should be earned. Now as far as being democrat/republican, I really can't say that I'm either, but after the last few presidential elections, I'm definitely NOT democrat.

Sounds pretty familiar.

I am a libertarian - in fact, a long-time board member of the Libertarian Party of Virginia, and former candidate for US house in the VA 10th congressional district (many years ago, when I was much younger and less cynical.)

My wife and I organized and hosted significant fundraisers in our home for Gary Johnson in both of his Presidential runs. He certainly made some mistakes this last time around, but he was also the victim of a system that has no interest in ever seeing a third party candidate elected to national office.

I do tend more conservative than liberal by most measures, if you are looking for a "standard" definition. I am a supporter of Thomas Massie and Rand Paul, both of whom are current Republican legislators.

As someone who has started and run successful businesses, I am opposed to most government intervention in the economy, corporate welfare in particular; I would like to see the corporate tax rate lowered to make us more competitive with Ireland and other favorable business environments, and I would like to see us adopt a free trade policy, which would open up new markets to American business.

On social issues, well there's a famous libertarian saying: "I want gay married couples to be able to protect their marijuana plants with machine guns." I do not consider it my business or the government's to have any say over what happens in anyone's private life, as long as they are not harming anyone else. I am an NRA certified pistol instructor, certified H&K gunsmith, train with former military and have more firearms than some small nations.

And I wasn't going to post any of this, except I knew that it would make Farley look like even more of a fool than he already is, so I figured why not.

It features "World's Smallest Political Quiz", which extreme left to extreme right at that time agreed was a fair measure of where an individual stood on issues.I was surprised that I came up as a centrist Libertarian, had always considered myself right wing. So I went back over my answers. Seems I'm disqualified from my perceived place in the spectrum mainly for 2 reasons:

1. I believe that if some people want to fry themselves with chemicals, we should let them, not waste untold billions of dollars on imprisoning them and enriching drug lords. And not waste a single dollar on medical costs incurred by the addicts, INCLUDING rehab. Legalize all drugs.

2. I don't believe in conscription. If a Society lacks the will and/or coherence to fight in defense of it's values, it doesn't deserve to exist.

Well said. I wouldn't consider those liberal traits.
